Governors-elect training seminars and Rotary
zone institutes begin this month
Governors-elect training seminars (GETS) take place August to December in
conjunction with Rotary zone institutes. GETS prepares the incoming class of RI
district governors to successfully lead their district, and allow governors-elect to
discuss effective strategies in their part of the Rotary world.
Other training meetings held in conjunction with Rotary zone institutes may include
programs for governor-elect partners, governors-nominee, or district trainers. Rotary
zone institutes often include a regional Rotary Foundation seminar and a zone-level
membership seminar.
Eighteen governors-elect training seminars (GETS) around the world prepare the
incoming class of RI district governors to successfully lead their district. These
regional meetings allow governors-elect to discuss effective strategies in their part of
the Rotary world.
A number of individuals from 7330 traveled to Sandusky, OH to attend the Zone
Institute and the GETS.
They will use the information that they gained to improve Rotary in 7330.
October is Rotary Vocational Service Month
Vocational Service, one of Rotary‟s Avenues of Service, encourages Rotarians to
serve others through their professions and to practice high ethical standards.
Rotarians, as business leaders, share skills and expertise through their vocations
and inspire others in the process. Observed each October, Vocational Service Month
spotlights Rotary club projects related to this avenue, offering an opportunity for clubs
and districts to use their professional skills in service projects.
